It’s 8:44am right now. I’ve gotten some “me” time, showered, worked for an hour, spent an hour at PT and grabbed myself some Starbucks.
If you’re still in bed, you have missed out on A LOT of your day.

A long, long, time ago, in this galaxy, we used to answer the phone. (We only had one phone per family back in the olden days.) Because we had no idea who was calling. And honestly, it was exciting to hear the phone ring. You had to run faster than your siblings to grab the receiver from the wall, and find out who was on the other end. And it was a complete joy to know it was for YOU, and you smugly glared at your sisters as you stretched the phone cord into the other room for some private chat with your friend.
Those days are gone, and now it seems the phone call is no longer your friend. Or anyone's friend. I'm going to be honest here. Sometimes you're going to get a client that is going to be a jerk. In the 14+ years I've been working for myself, I have come across only two clients that fall into that category. I know that doesn't seem like a lot, but I don't work with a huge volume of people so two is a big number for me. For other businesses who may work for hundreds of clients in a month, that number can grow exponentially.
So, what am I talking about in this blog? I'm talking about how you can identify the jerk client and what you should do about it. Let's get into it. I really didn't feel like I wanted to blog here on my new website. When you do a lot of work for other people, you tend to not want to do it for yourself. And lately I've been doing a ton of writing for others. It's kind of like when I was in college. I was an English major, so I was constantly reading something. A book, a play, poetry, articles... everything. And when you're fully concentrated on the work aspect of reading, you tend to lose the enjoyment aspect of reading.
At least, that's how I feel. |
